Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information AgroEnvironmental Sustainability and its publisher, the Society for AgroEnvironmental Sustainability, collect through this website, how it is used, and what choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information: name, email address, affiliation, country, ORCID iD, and areas of interest, entered when you register as an author, reviewer, or reader.
  • Submission information: the details of all authors named in a manuscript, and the manuscript files, reviews, and correspondence connected with it.
  • Payment information: the name and billing details needed to process an article processing charge. Card and bank details are entered on the payment provider's secure page and are not stored by the journal.
  • Usage information: anonymous statistics on how the website is used, collected through Google Analytics and the journal system's own article download counts.

How we use it

  • To manage submissions, peer review, and publication, and to communicate with authors and reviewers about them.
  • To publish author names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs with each article, as part of the permanent scholarly record.
  • To send issue alerts and journal notices to users who have chosen to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time in your user profile.
  • To understand how the website is used and to improve it.
  • We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • Reviewers see the names and affiliations of the authors of the manuscripts they review. Reviewers' identities are not shared with authors.
  • Metadata of published articles, including author names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs, is sent to Crossref for DOI registration and made available to indexing and archiving services, including the PKP Preservation Network.
  • Service providers that help run the journal handle personal information on our behalf: the website hosting provider, the Manuscript Essential proofing system, Google Analytics, and the online payment gateway. They may use the information only to provide their services to the journal.
  • We will disclose personal information to others only if required by law, or with your consent.

How long we keep it

  • Account information is kept while your account is active. Records of submissions and peer review are kept for as long as needed to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record and to deal with any later questions about published work.
  • Author details published with an article remain part of the article permanently.

Security

The website uses encrypted (HTTPS) connections, and access to the journal system is restricted to authorised editorial staff. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Cookies

The website uses a session cookie to keep you logged in, and Google Analytics cookies to collect anonymous usage statistics. It does not use advertising cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, but you will not be able to log in without the session cookie. See the journal's Cookie Policy.

Your choices

  • You can view and update your account details at any time by logging in to your profile.
  • You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to info@sagens.org. We will reply within 30 days. Information that forms part of a published article, or that we must keep for the record of a submission, may not be deletable.
